- You can read everything on this website without creating an account or giving us any personal information.
- If you choose to join our free weekly newsletter, we save your email address, your first name if you give it, the one topic you choose, and a record of your consent. We do not save your IP address on the newsletter list.
- We do not sell your information, and we do not use advertising trackers.
- Our website does not set cookies of its own, and it does not use analytics tools that follow you around the web.
- Our web server keeps basic technical records, such as your IP address and the pages requested, to keep the site working and secure.
- Fonts on our pages load from Google, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads.
- Links to other websites, such as TED or YouTube, open those sites, which have their own privacy practices.
- We may offer an optional account in the future. If you want the site to remember your activity, you can choose to log in and share the information needed. We will tell you exactly what is saved before you sign up, and you will be able to delete it.
Privacy Policy
WITHIN Learning Group, LLC · Within Your Light
Effective October 12, 2026 · Last updated October 12, 2026
Our commitment to your privacy
At WITHIN LEARNING GROUP LLC, we believe privacy is essential to trust, safety, dignity, and personal autonomy. Our website provides educational information, resources, and tools that support learning, personal growth, relationships, and well-being.
People who visit us may be exploring deeply personal subjects, including emotional health and mental health. You have the right to read, learn, and explore these subjects without unnecessary collection or sharing of your personal information.
This policy explains what we may collect, how we use and protect it, when it may be shared, and the choices you have. We aim to be transparent and to follow applicable federal and state privacy laws.
1. Who we are
WITHIN LEARNING GROUP LLC (“we,” “our,” “us”) owns and operates educational websites and digital resources that support individuals and families. “You” and “visitor” mean anyone who uses our websites and digital services.
This policy applies to WithinYourLight.com. It also applies to our other websites, WithinYourPregnancy.com and WithinYourMarriage.com, and to any other website we say we own or operate, as long as their practices match this policy. Some sites or services may have their own additional privacy notices.
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers personal information collected through our websites and related online educational services. Depending on the features of a site, this may include information collected when you:
- Browse educational materials.
- Email us with a question or feedback.
- Subscribe to educational updates, if we offer them.
- Create an account, if we offer accounts.
- Take part in interactive activities, questionnaires, or tools.
- Buy an educational product or service, if we offer one.
Not every feature listed here exists on every website, and many are not available today. We will update this policy before we add features that change how we collect or use information.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you choose to give us
You can read all of our educational content without giving us any personal information. We do not have accounts or logins today. If you choose to email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. If you join our newsletter, we collect what is listed below. If we add features in the future, we may collect more, and we will update this policy first.
Newsletter sign-up
When you join our free weekly newsletter, we save:
- Your email address (required).
- Your first name (optional).
- The one topic you choose, such as “Learning about my mind and body.” This tells us what you would like to read about. We do not treat it as information about your health, and we do not use it to draw conclusions about you. “Prefer not to say” is always an option.
- A record of your consent: the exact words you agreed to, the version of those words, and the date and time.
- A private code that makes your unsubscribe and topic links work.
We do not save your IP address on the newsletter list. We use a hidden field, a short minimum wait, a limit on how fast sign-ups can arrive, and a check that the form came from our own website to protect the form from automated abuse. These checks do not store personal information. We send one email a week, by email only, and we never send postal mail.
3.2 Information collected automatically
When you visit, our web server and hosting provider may automatically record technical information such as:
- Your Internet Protocol (IP) address.
- Browser type, device type, and operating system.
- The pages you request, and the date and time.
- The website that sent you to us.
- Technical details about performance and security.
We use this to keep the website working, find and fix technical problems, improve accessibility, and protect our systems. These records are kept for a limited time.
3.3 Sensitive information
Visitors may read about sensitive subjects, such as mental health, trauma, pregnancy, and relationships. Information you submit could reveal details about your physical or emotional well-being, mental health, family or relationships, or personal challenges. We try to collect as little sensitive information as possible, and only what is reasonably needed for a service you ask for.
We do not assume that you want to share personal information just because you read about a sensitive topic. Where the law requires additional notice, consent, or authorization, we will provide it and get your permission before we collect, use, or share that information.
4. Optional accounts and remembering your activity (planned)
We may add an optional account in the future. Its purpose would be simple: if you want the website to remember your activity, you can choose to log in and provide the information needed. Without an account, we do not track what you read.
If we offer accounts, then before you sign up we will tell you:
- What we would save, for example your email address, your login details, the pages you save or finish, your preferences, and anything you choose to write or answer.
- Why we save it, and who can see it.
- How long we keep it.
- How to see, correct, download, or delete it, and how to close your account.
An account would always be your choice, and you would still be able to read our content without one. We will store login credentials securely, and we will update this policy and ask for any consent the law requires before we start.
5. How we use personal information
- To provide the educational resources and tools you ask for.
- To respond to your questions, feedback, and requests.
- To create, maintain, and secure accounts, if we offer them.
- To personalize your learning experience based on information you choose to give us. Personalization involving consumer health data will follow the notice and consent rules that apply.
- To find technical problems, evaluate how the website works, improve accessibility, and develop new resources.
- To detect suspicious activity and protect the security of our websites.
- To keep business records, respond to lawful requests, and follow the law.
- To send our weekly newsletter, only if you have asked for it. We use the topic you choose to decide which updates to send you. We do not use it to guess anything about your health. You can unsubscribe in one click at any time, or change your topic from the links in every email.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files that a website can store on your device. Our website does not set cookies of its own today. If we add accounts, we may use cookies or similar technologies that are needed to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, protect security, and support accessibility.
We know that tracking can raise concerns, especially on websites about sensitive subjects, so our goal is to use as little as possible. Where the law requires, we will give you notice and choices about nonessential cookies. You can also control cookies in your browser settings, though turning some off may affect how certain features work.
7. Analytics and advertising
We know that visitors may look for information on sensitive topics without wanting their interests tracked. Our website does not use advertising trackers or analytics tools today.
If we add any analytics or advertising technology in the future, we will review its privacy risks and legal requirements first and describe it in this policy. We will not knowingly share identifiable consumer health information with advertising platforms for targeted advertising unless the law’s requirements, including any required consent, have been met.
8. Artificial intelligence and interactive tools
We may offer interactive educational tools in the future, including tools that use artificial intelligence (AI). If you use an AI-powered feature, what you type may need to be processed to create a response, and that may involve a third-party service provider.
Before we offer such a tool, we will review what information it collects, how it is processed, whether it is kept, and what safeguards and notices are needed. We will give you more information, or ask for consent, where required. Please avoid entering unnecessary identifying details into any interactive tool. AI-generated information is educational and is not a substitute for individual professional medical, psychological, legal, or other regulated advice.
9. Service providers
We use outside companies to help run our website. Depending on the services we offer, they may help with:
- Website hosting and cloud storage. Our newsletter list is stored in a database on our own website’s server.
- Sending our newsletter emails. We may use an email service to deliver them, which receives the addresses it needs to deliver messages.
- Website security and technical maintenance.
- Email and account management.
- Payment processing.
- Interactive tools.
- Fonts. The fonts on our pages are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser information when a page loads.
We try to share only what is reasonably needed for each provider’s job, and we expect them to protect information under applicable legal and contract requirements. Where extra consent, authorization, or contract protections are required by law, they will apply.
10. We do not sell your information
We do not operate our websites to sell visitors’ personal information, and we do not sell your information today. We will not sell consumer health data unless all legal requirements, including any required authorization, have been met. Any information sharing that counts as a “sale” under privacy law will be reviewed and disclosed as the law requires.
11. Educational information and professional services
Our websites provide educational information about topics such as mental health, emotional well-being, relationships, pregnancy, and personal growth. Unless we clearly say otherwise, it is for education only.
Using our websites does not create a therapist–client, doctor–patient, or other treatment relationship. Our materials are not a substitute for individual diagnosis, treatment, or professional advice. If we ever offer professional healthcare or counseling, additional privacy notices, professional disclosures, and consent will apply.
12. Email and electronic communications
If you contact us by email or another electronic method, we may use what you send to respond to you. Ordinary email and internet communication can carry privacy and security risks. Please do not send highly sensitive medical, psychological, financial, or personal information by ordinary email or a general contact form. If a service ever needs sensitive information, we will look at whether a more secure way to send it is needed or required.
13. Information security
We work to protect personal information from unauthorized access, misuse, change, loss, or disclosure, using administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards that fit the information and the risks. These may include access controls and secure hosting arrangements. No website, electronic transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please take reasonable precautions when you share information online.
14. How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the services you request, keep appropriate business records, resolve disputes, and follow the law. How long depends on the type of information and why we collected it. For the newsletter, we keep your details while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal record (your email address and the date) so that we do not email you again, and you can ask us to delete it. When we no longer need information, we will take reasonable steps to delete, de-identify, or securely dispose of it, unless the law requires us to keep it.
15. Children’s privacy
Our website is intended for a general audience, including parents, caregivers, and families. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we offer a service for children or teens in the future, we will follow the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other applicable rules, and we will get verifiable parental consent where required.
If you believe a child has given us personal information, or you have questions about a child’s information, please contact us and we will review and respond.
16. Your privacy rights and choices
Depending on where you live, the kind of information involved, and the law, you may have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask for access to certain personal information.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Ask us to delete information.
- Withdraw consent for certain uses.
- Limit certain uses or sharing.
- Opt out of optional promotional messages.
- File a privacy complaint.
Some requests may be subject to legal exceptions. We will review and answer requests as the law requires, and we will not unlawfully treat you worse or retaliate against you for using your privacy rights.
17. Consumer health data and Washington State law
Some information collected through our websites could qualify as “consumer health data” under Washington State law, for example information about physical or mental health, reproductive health, pregnancy, or health-related services.
Our website does not link what you read to who you are. Our newsletter asks you to choose a topic of interest, which describes what you would like to learn about, not your health. We do not use it to infer or record a health condition, and “Prefer not to say” is always an option. If that changes, for example when we offer accounts that save your activity, then where Washington’s My Health My Data Act applies we will provide the required disclosures, consent choices, and ways to use your rights. We will provide a separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy where the law requires it. This policy does not replace any additional notice required by consumer health privacy laws.
18. Links to other websites
Our pages link to outside educational resources, organizations, and services, such as TED, YouTube, and public health agencies. Those sites are run independently and may handle your information differently from us. Videos and other outside content open on the other site, not on ours. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of independent websites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
19. Visitors outside the United States
Our website can be reached from outside the United States. Your information may be processed or stored in the United States or in other places where our providers operate, and privacy laws may differ by place. Where international privacy laws apply to our activities, we will follow their relevant requirements. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, we process your newsletter details on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. You may also have the right to data portability and to object, and you may complain to your local data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
20. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, technology, practices, or legal requirements change. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We will give additional notice or ask for consent when the law requires it. We will update this policy before we add features, such as accounts, that change how we collect or use information.
21. Contact us
